The Great Debate

I just realized that the cards I bought for Christmas are all those that say “Happy Holidays.” This will, without a doubt, cause some of my family members’ panties to promptly rise up, proceed to bunch, and get totally stuck in their butts.

“You’re taking the CHRIST out of CHRISTmas!”

No, no, no. It’s never my will to stomp over people’s beliefs and force them into my way or the highway. I do think people should calm down about the Happy Holidays vs. Merry Christmas thing, though. It boils down to a personal preference, and either way, it’s a well wish that should be taken in appreciation.

Let me put it this way, when I wish you “Happy Holidays” or maybe drop you a “Season’s Greetings,” I’m merely extending your merriment. Why would I wish you just one day of happiness and good tidings when I can wish you a WHOLE SEASON?! I guess I’m just generous.
