I have big plans for tonight, let me tell you. Said plans involve me, a MacBook, and the Savannah College of Art and Design.
I don’t keep it secret that I left college after one year. A lot of people, for whatever reason, look down on this decision. However, it was one of the better decisions I’ve made in my recent life. While I miss so much about the whole experience, I wasn’t in the right mindset for school, and I was wasting money and time. I never wanted to be someone who took more than four years to complete my undergraduate program. Don’t get me wrong, I love learning, but FOUR YEARS IS ENOUGH FOR ME.
So how does this all roll back to my evening plans? Well, I periodically login to my old college email account just to see if it’s been deleted. Last time I was on, I saw that SCAD is waiving all application fees if you apply online on a Monday in December. First of all, I love this highly detailed concept. Secondly, I would like a shot of getting back in — just to see if I can. The first time around, I managed to score three scholarships. Let’s see what this old lady can do now!
If I got accepted, I’m not sure what I would do. I have a lot of responsibilities here, and I don’t know if I could leave my family AGAIN. On the other hand, I would love to get a degree in Art History (always my highest grade and easiest class) and be in the city I love so much.
Wish me luck!
