I was listening to the radio on the way to my dental appointment today. The traffic report came on in between songs, and I half-way listened to them since the accidents mostly occur across the bay in Mobile. Well, my ears perked up when they announced heavy traffic somewhere over there due to — get this — someone leaving a box of puppies by the road.

What in the hell, people?! Those poor babies are crawling innocently out of their box, and everyone is just driving around them? Trying to dodge them? This isn’t frickin’ Frogger. Get out of your cars and get them out of harm’s way! You don’t have to keep them, but the right thing to do is to get them to safety. There are so many shelters. There are so many friends and colleagues you know that are looking for a pet. Even taking them to a pound gives them a better chance of life than their current location. Grow a heart and take care of your fellow creatures.

And who — WHO — would drop puppies off so irresponsibly? I can’t even tell you how ignorant and trashy this is. I can’t begin to explain how irate this makes me. These are living things. What? You think drivers like to chance pulling over on a busy street to wrangle animals into their cars? This is the best technique and strategy you’ve got?! Do me a favor, and go finish middle school…because that’s clearly when you stopped your education.
