Can't Cut These Catholic Roots
Any Catholics in the house?  Let me hear y’all say, “Body of Christ!”  Okay, seriously. As you loyal readers know, I was raised Catholic as Catholic can be. I don’t really practice Catholicism and haven’t since I was about 15. However, I surely hold on to the tradition.  I was driving home from getting my brakes fixed the other week, and I was wondering why the nice...

Dog Update: Past & Present
I am 100% bummed out over the puppy search. For the second time this week, I allowed a chosen puppy to be adopted by someone other than myself. Kyle and I found a wonderful puppy yesterday at the pound in the country. She was named Angie, which we sang like the Rolling Stones’ tune, and she was a labrador mix. She hated to get her pen dirty, which was very promising. She was also spirited,...

Handmade Connect-The-Dots!
Kyle and I are both essentially jumbo-sized children. So, what more could a kid ask for than a Handmade Connect-The-Dots puzzle? Here’s one I made for Kyle: I found this piece of paper on Kyle’s desk in the music room. All that was written on it was “Rock Solid” in pencil. This, of course, was hysterical. So, I thought about what form I would like to create and then put...

So, today I felt like getting ahead domestically…doing the dishes, folding the laundry, and an extra surprise. It’s all in a day’s work for me.

Alice in Etsyland
I am so excited about a recent Etsy purchase! Kaleigh has quite a knack for creating delicate, beautiful treasures…and I get to have my very own. If it weren’t for a hideous allergy to nickel, I would buy everything in her shop. This is the piece I will own soon: She is so kind, she even checked the nickel content for me! She really goes the extra mile for her customers. She’s...

Home Remedies Corner
Friends, it’s time for Home Remedies Corner. Today, we will focus on blemished skin. Now, I don’t know about you, but I would love to have clear skin and still remain on my strict budget. If you think you can’t find this Holy Grail — you can! It’s all about household items. What do you say to a face mask made solely of aspirin and honey?   When you gather your...

Seaside Escape
Monday: My mom, stepdad (Matt), Kyle, and me all drive down to our seaside escape. Tuesday: Kyle and Matt drive home. We are saddened, but Kyle has a gig…and the seaside escape becomes LADIES’ SEASIDE ESCAPE. Kyle and I ride bikes together. I only learned how to ride a bike when I was 19, and I haven’t really had the opportunity to ride my bike since I moved back home from...

Mother's Day!
Q: Who is so sassy during her 10th, yes, 10th month of pregnancy in 1986? Q: Who allows her earlobes to be rubbed? A: My MOM! Facts: 1. Yes, I was one entire month late with my birth. My mom should have known that I would have been voted “Least Punctual” in high school. 2. I rub earlobes like a madman. My mom is the only person who never complained. 3. My mom goes to Zumba class...

Facebook Annoyances Meet Blog
My apologies, but I am desperately trying to put off vacuuming the house. 1. First thing you wash in the shower? My hair. 2. What color is your favorite hoodie? Navy blue. It was my brother’s when he was, like, six years old. 3. Would you kiss the last person you kissed again? Absolutely! It’s my greatest joy. 4. Do you plan outfits? Not usually. I normally wear whatever is closest and...

Ode to Ashley Erin
Singing the praises of my beloved friend who moved to Charleston.           Ashley Dee is the fairest queen of Pretty, Pretty Princess I’ve ever seen. I miss your street usage of the word “bebop” and that dance you do with a bounce-hop. Darth Vader birthdays and Mexican hookers and getting free McDonald’s ‘cause we’re such lookers. I feel so relieved that you...

The Winner!
Drum roll, please… Ta-Da! Above is the winning dress to showcase my new accessories (seen in the post below) from all the suggestions emailed to me. Jada of HipIncognito fame suggested quite a few lovely options for my future jersey knit summer dress, but I had to agree with her top choice. This dress is flowy, simple, chic, and has the plunging neckline to house the doilie bib necklace....

Feelin' Blue
I just received these lovely items in the mail: Yes, a straight-up doilie bib necklace and a skinny leather belt. All in fabulous blues. Now, can someone please point me in the direction of an inexpensive, simple, jersey knit dress in winter white or black? Thank you.
